Overview

We're seeking an experienced technical leader to join our team to lead measurement, rigor, and strategy for our multi-million-dollar Marketing budget. You will instill industry-best methodologies for incrementality measurement, multi-touch attribution (MTA), and triangulation using both internal measures and external data points, such as marketing mix models (MMMs). The Instacart Marketing Data Science team operates as thought leaders and problem solvers in partnership with the Growth and Marketing organizations, supporting our broader mission to give everyone access to the food they love.

We are responsible for understanding the end-to-end impact of our marketing spend. This includes how marketing shapes customer behavior both immediately and in the long term, evaluating the efficiency of our marketing technology, and determining the highest ROI investments in marketing and marketing technology. Our team’s role is to power the company’s growth engine through data, analysis, and actionable insights.

As part of this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional partners across Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams to define metrics for marketing incrementality. You will design rigorous experimentation and analysis frameworks to deepen our understanding of marketing investment efficiency and customer journeys. Additionally, your work will drive actionable opportunities to optimize marketing impact, define key levers for business outcomes, and build scalable data-driven solutions.
