Job Description

About the Position

FiscalNote is hiring a Policy Analyst to serve as a core member of our Professional Services team and a trusted resource for our clients. Policy Analysts are curious, detail-oriented, and self-motivated — they thrive on staying current with legislative and regulatory developments and translating complex policy into clear, actionable insights. In this role, you will support a portfolio of clients across issue areas, executing high-quality analytical work with accuracy and consistency. You will be a critical participant in day-to-day client delivery, taking ownership of your work and building the foundational expertise and habits that define a strong career at FiscalNote.

About the Professional Services Team

Our Professional Services team is the consulting arm of FiscalNote— the human-in-the-loop that helps clients get the most out of their engagement, primarily through U.S. federal and state legislative and regulatory analysis. We build and support offerings across our core product portfolio and custom client engagements, partnering closely with Business Development and Account Management to deliver projects that help clients work smarter. We're a dynamic, hard-working team that thrives on constant learning, ownership, and growth.

About You

  • You have a passion for policy — at the federal, state, or local level — and a genuine curiosity about how legislation and regulation shape the world.
  • You are a strong writer and communicator who can synthesize complex information for a wide range of audiences, from analysts to executives.
  • You are organized, reliable, and take pride in delivering accurate, high-quality work on time — even when juggling competing priorities.
  • You seek out feedback, apply it quickly, and are committed to building your skills and growing your career.
  • You are a team player who contributes positively to those around you and takes accountability for your own work and outcomes.
  • You are comfortable working with technology and data, and you are open to adopting new tools — including AI-assisted workflows — to improve efficiency and output quality.
The salary range for this position is $52,000 - 59,500 per year.

What To Expect In This Position
  • Independently produce accurate, on-time policy analysis for assigned jurisdictions or issue areas, covering federal, state, and local legislative and regulatory developments.
  • Deliver recurring written outputs — summaries, trackers, reports, and briefings — that meet quality standards with routine review and guidance from senior team members.
  • Demonstrate reliable use of FiscalNote tools, data sources, and standard delivery workflows to execute client work efficiently.
  • Apply feedback consistently to improve the accuracy, structure, and clarity of your work across deliverables.
  • Manage your personal workload across multiple deadlines without delivery slippage, flagging risks or blockers early.
  • Join client calls and meetings to support senior team members in managing client relationships and communicating on project status.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally in writing and in internal discussions, using established formats and templates.
  • Become an expert in FiscalNote’s current products and solutions, contributing to the delivery of new technical and professional services offerings over time.
  • Relay client and product feedback to product, engineering, and go-to-market teams to inform continuous improvement.
  • What Sets You Apart
  • 1–3 years of relevant professional experience in policy research, government, consulting, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex policy analysis in clear, audience-appropriate formats.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects or workstreams simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • A strong interest in the intersection of politics, policy, and technology.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in political science, government, economics, public policy, or a related subject.
  • Experience using data to support analysis and communicate targeted, concise insights.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to learn new tools and workflows quickly.
  • Comfort working alongside AI-assisted tools and a willingness to adopt new workflows that improve speed and quality.
  • Experience working in a client-focused or customer service-oriented environment preferred.
