Job description

SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.

FACILITIES SUPERVISOR

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead a high-performing team handling all facilities operations—including general maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, janitorial, landscaping, waste management, and site improvements—to deliver zero unplanned disruptions for 1,000+ residents and critical Starship operations
  • Manage third-party vendors (e.g., janitorial, contractors) to enforce corporate standards, optimize contracts, and drive cost savings while maintaining top-tier service
  • Develop, plan, and execute strategic site improvement projects aligned with business goals, from residential upgrades to amenity enhancements
  • Oversee maintenance, repairs, and installations across diverse assets: housing, employee lodging, food & beverage venues, recreation facilities, and private school—ensuring safe, comfortable living in a remote frontier
  • Design and implement a proactive preventive maintenance program for launch and support facilities, minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency
  • Monitor construction projects to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery with zero impact to ongoing operations or critical paths
  • Coach, develop, and inspire a team of maintenance technicians and trades professionals to peak performance
  • Prioritize tasks dynamically in a fast-paced environment, eliminating blockers and innovating for continuous improvement

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency diploma
  • 3+ years of professional experience with facilities management
  • 1+ years of experience leading a team or project

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, facilities management, or related field
  • Proven budget management and vendor negotiation skills, with a track record of cost optimization
  • Experience in multi-family housing, hospitality, or large-scale community/resort operations (e.g., cruise ships, campuses, or remote sites)
  • Expertise with asset management software and building systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire suppression, generators, fuel systems)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • High attention to detail, relentless focus on cleanliness/standards, and ability to thrive independently in dynamic, deadline-driven settings
  • Innovative problem-solver who anticipates needs and drives efficiency in high-volume, 24/7 environments

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be willing to relocate to Starbase, TX and travel to remote Moon Corps sites on critical projects (up to 85% travel)
  • Ability to provide 24/7 on-call support for emergencies and critical operations

ITAR REQUIREMENTS:

  • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
