The Collector is responsible for supporting collection activities related to unsecured and secured consumer loans, small business loans, mortgage and home equity loans, and overdrawn deposit accounts. This role works with borrowers to resolve delinquent accounts, reduce credit losses, and support overall asset quality in accordance with established policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements. The Collector documents collection activity, recommends appropriate next steps, and partners with internal teams to help maintain delinquencies and losses within the credit risk appetite and tolerance measures of the organization.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Document all collection activity, borrower communications, payment arrangements, and account status updates accurately and timely.
Coordinate with internal partners and approved vendors, as directed, to support collection activity, repossession, recovery, and account resolution efforts.
Interacts with other Collectors, Collections leadership, Chief Credit Officer, Lenders, Bankers, Call Center, Deposit Operations, Loan Operations, Accounting, approved collection vendors, and borrowers to support account resolution and loss mitigation efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
1-3 years of banking, collections, lending, call center, or customer service experience.
Familiarity with repossession, foreclosure, bankruptcy, charge-off, or recovery processes and systems.
