Legal Operations Manager
Job Location
New York, New York
Job Description

SeatGeek believes live events are powerful experiences that unite humans. With our technological savvy and fan-first attitude we’re simplifying and modernizing the ticketing industry.

We are seeking a strategic and execution-oriented Legal Operations Manager to transform how our Legal team operates. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role where you will own the full operational lifecycle of the department — from identifying inefficiencies to implementing the tools and workflows that solve them. You will be a force multiplier for our attorneys, enabling them to focus on high-value legal work while you ensure the department runs like a well-oiled machine.

The ideal candidate is someone who thinks in systems, thrives in ambiguity, communicates crisply with both legal and non-legal stakeholders, and has a track record of delivering measurable operational improvements in a legal or professional services environment. This role will report directly to the Senior Corporate Counsel.

What you'll do

Technology & Tools

  • In partnership with other teams, own the legal tech stack: evaluate, select, implement, and manage software and AI-powered tools to improve the performance and efficiency of the team
  • Partner with IT and procurement to ensure tools are properly integrated, adopted, and continuously optimized
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reporting infrastructure to give leadership visibility into department performance
  • Map and audit current legal workflows to identify bottlenecks, redundancies, and improvement opportunities
  • Design and implement scalable processes for high-volume legal work
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, playbooks, and self-service resources for internal clients

Outside Counsel Management

  • Manage relationships with outside counsel and legal vendors, including rate negotiations, matter budgeting, and invoice review
  • Implement and enforce billing guidelines; analyze outside counsel spend and identify cost savings
  • Manage legal billing and e-billing software and matter management systems

Strategic Operations & Analytics

  • Build and maintain legal department KPIs, scorecards, and operational reporting
  • Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for the legal department
  • Drive special projects and cross-functional initiatives

Knowledge Management & Training

  • Build and curate a legal knowledge management system (templates, precedents, FAQs, training materials)
  • Deliver training sessions to legal and non-legal stakeholders on processes, tools, and self-service resources
  • Create onboarding programs for new legal team members

Legal team functional support

  • Oversee and optimize compliance with multiple government relations regulatory requirements, including tracking and filing of required lobbying and political giving disclosures
  • Support board and stockholder administration as needed, including maintaining the action tracker, filing consents, minutes, and meeting materials, and coordinating upcoming approvals
  • Manage annual renewal of foreign qualifications across all registered jurisdictions, tracking deadlines and filing requirements to ensure timely compliance
  • Support administration of company's equity plans, including processing award releases, maintaining cap table records, coordinating quarterly grant cycles, and ensuring compliance with applicable securities and tax requirements

What you have

  • 5+ years of experience in legal operations, law firm management, management consulting, or a closely related field
  • Deep familiarity with legal technology (CLM platforms, matter management systems, e-billing tools, contract repositories)
  • Demonstrated experience leading process improvement initiatives from diagnosis through implementation
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Exceptional project management skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; ability to present complex topics clearly to executives
  • Collaborative approach, and proven ability to build trust with attorneys and business stakeholders
  • Experience at a high-growth technology company
  • Familiarity with AI tools being applied in a legal context
  • Familiarity with data privacy and information governance
  • CLOC or PMP certification

Perks

  • Equity stake
  • Discretionary annual bonus
  • Flexible work environment, allowing you to work as many days a week in the office as you’d like or 100% remotely
  • A WFH stipend to support your home office setup
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Eligible for the SG discretionary annual bonus based on individual and company performance
  • Up to 16 weeks of fully-paid family leave
  • 401(k) matching
  • Student loan matching program
  • Health, vision, dental, and life insurance
  • Up to $25k towards family building, reproductive health services and Gender-affirming care
  • $500 per year for wellness expenses
  • Subscriptions to Headspace (meditation), Headspace Care (therapy), and One Medical
  • $360 per quarter to spend on tickets to live events
  • Annual subscription to Spotify, Apple Music, or Amazon music

The salary range for this role is $112,000 - $163,000 USD. This role is equity eligible. In addition, you may receive a discretionary annual bonus based on individual and company performance. Actual compensation packages within that range are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific location.
