Global Customs Specialist
The Global Customs Specialist is responsible for the precise entry, validation, and analysis of confidential data and documentation to support business requirements. Operating within the
KlearNow.AI digital platform, this role combines technical knowledge of customs import requirements with high-efficiency data management to support automated, tech-enabled data operations.
Key Responsibilities
Documentation Review: Validate shipment documents, including Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Bills of Lading, Arrival Notices, and various Certificates ensuring all data is accurate for specified business rules.
Data Entry & Integrity: Perform high-speed, accurate data entry of shipment details into
KlearNow.AI systems within strict time limits to prevent processing delays.
Compliance & Technical Input: Input and verify Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes and ensure consistency with product descriptions and regulatory requirements.
Discrepancy Resolution: Identify and flag deficiencies or errors in shipment document packages; research and obtain missing information from customers or other business partners to resolve issues proactively.
Reporting & Analysis: Compile and analyze shipment data to generate reports, maintain digital records, and ensure data integrity across all transactions.
Stakeholder Communication: Coordinate professionally with customers, internal teams, and other business partners to facilitate timely shipment processing.
Security & Confidentiality: Strictly adhere to internal data security policies and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive customer and shipment information.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Diploma in Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related customs program preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
Experience: 1–3 years of experience in customs brokerage
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with customs import rules, regulations, and import processes.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills for professional interaction.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (especially spreadsheets) and web-based data programs; ability to learn AI-driven platforms quickly.
Operational Agility: Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills, with a proactive approach to resolving documentation issues.
Shift Flexibility: Willingness to work in rotational shifts aligned with North American operations and to support weekend and holiday coverage as required, with appropriate weekly days off.
