Job description

Revolution Medicines is a late-stage clinical oncology company developing novel targeted therapies for patients with RAS-addicted cancers. The company’s R&D pipeline comprises RAS(ON) inhibitors designed to suppress diverse oncogenic variants of RAS proteins. The company’s RAS(ON) inhibitors daraxonrasib (RMC-6236), a RAS(ON) multi-selective inhibitor; elironrasib (RMC-6291), a RAS(ON) G12C-selective inhibitor; zoldonrasib (RMC-9805), a RAS(ON) G12D-selective inhibitor; and RMC-5127, a RAS(ON) G12V-selective inhibitor, are currently in clinical development. As a new member of the Revolution Medicines team, you will join other outstanding professionals in a tireless commitment to patients with cancers harboring mutations in the RAS signaling pathway.

The Opportunity:

Reporting directly to the Vice President of US Market Access, the Director, Market Access Strategic Planning and Initiatives will serve as a strategic partner to the VP US Market Access, driving operational excellence, cross-functional alignment, and execution of key business priorities. This highly visible role is responsible for enabling the Market Access Leadership Team to operate effectively, ensuring strategic initiatives are translated into actionable plans and successfully executed across the organization.

The Director, Market Access Strategic Planning and Initiatives combines strategic thinking, business acumen, project leadership, and organizational influence to improve decision-making, facilitate communications, and manage enterprise-level initiatives that support successful product launches and optimize patient access. This role partners closely with Commercial, Medical Affairs, HEOR, Finance, Legal, and Compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Business Execution:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor for strategic priorities and organizational effectiveness.

  • Translate strategic objectives into measurable operational plans with defined milestones, owners, and success metrics.

  • Lead development of annual strategic plans, organizational goals, and business reviews.

  • Monitor execution of key initiatives and proactively identify risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies.

  • Drive alignment of Market Access priorities with overall commercial and corporate objectives.

Operational Excellence

  • Manage the operating cadence of the Market Access organization, including leadership meetings, business reviews, strategic planning sessions, and offsites.

  • Coordinate I&A developed KPIs to monitor organizational performance.

  • Coordinate resource planning and cross-functional execution across multiple workstreams.

Market Access Communications

  • Coordinate Market Access presentations, governance updates, business reviews, and leadership communications.

  • Coordinate organizational communications and ensure consistency of messaging.

  • Support executive decision-making through business analysis and synthesis of complex information.

Program & Portfolio Management

  • Lead strategic initiatives that span multiple functional areas.

  • Establish project governance, timelines, and executive reporting.

  • Ensure successful delivery of high-priority organizational objectives.

  • Improve organizational processes, meeting effectiveness, and decision quality.

  • Support talent initiatives, succession planning, and organizational development.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Required Skills, Experience and Education: 

  • BS/BA degree.

  • Minimum of 8-10 years with biopharmaceutical market access experience, including payer, reimbursement, pricing, field team leadership, and established relationships with several key national and regional payers.

  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed organization.

  • Experience supporting executive.

  • Experience in one or more of the following: US Payer Marketing, Pricing & Contracting, National Accounts, Patient Services, Channel and Distribution, Market Access Analytics, Commercial Launch Planning.

 Preferred Skills:

  • Master’s degree or higher preferred.

  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of biopharmaceutical market access experience, including payer, reimbursement, pricing & contracting, field team leadership, and established relationships with several key national and regional payers.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

The base pay salary range for this full-time position for candidates working onsite at our headquarters in Redwood City, CA is listed below. Individual base pay salary is determined by multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, market dynamics, and relevant education or training.

$201,000$251,000 USD
