Job description

About Starbridge

We're building the front door for how businesses partner with government in America.

Public agencies spend roughly a trillion dollars a year with private companies, and nearly all of it still moves through infrastructure that hasn't changed in decades. Starbridge is building the full operating system for that relationship: the data, the signals, the workflows, and the rails that let a company find a public buyer, win the work, and get paid.

We monitor 320,000+ public sector entities around the clock. 500+ customers have joined us since our launch in March. We've raised $50M from top investors including Craft and Michael Seibel of Y Combinator.

About the role

Starbridge is hiring a Recruiter based in New York to help us hire the very best people in the market as we scale. You will report to our Head of Recruiting.

In 2025 we tripled headcount, filling 30+ roles with a two-person recruiting team, because we run recruiting the way we run go-to-market: engineered, measured, and AI-forward. Sourcing, research, interview prep, and reporting all lean on AI here (check out our feature with Juicebox). You'll inherit that leverage and push it further.

What you'll do:

Recruit with a real AI stack: Much of the manual work in this job: sourcing review, interview prep, note-taking, pipeline reporting, is already automated here.

  • Recruit the top 1%, not the available 10%: For every search, build a written point of view on what great looks like, which companies produce it, and who specifically we should be talking to, then go earn the reply.

  • Own screening and assessment: Run résumé reviews, prescreens, and deeper technical or competency-based evaluations to keep decisions moving.

  • Own offers and closing: Most finalists are weighing something else, and losing one at the offer stage is the most expensive thing that happens in this role.

  • Run a process candidates talk about afterward: Shooting star speed for responsiveness and decisions in days rather than weeks. Candidates who don't get an offer should still send us their friends.

  • Tell hiring managers what they need to hear: Flag a mis-scoped search, a below-market band, or a profile that doesn't exist in week one, with market data and funnel numbers behind it.

What you bring:

  • 4+ years recruiting in a high-growth environment.

  • You already use LLMs in your recruiting work: research, outreach, call summaries, funnel analysis, and can describe a workflow you built or improved.

  • Proven ability to independently qualify, screen, progress, and close technical candidates.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, high attention to detail, and strong organizational instincts.

  • Ownership mentality: you thrive in ambiguity, move quickly, and bias toward action.

Bonus if you have:

  • Familiarity with modern recruiting platforms (Ashby, Greenhouse, Gem, Juicebox).

  • Prior experience scaling recruiting at an early-stage company.

Interview process

We move fast — really fast. Getting back to someone today beats tomorrow, and our interview process reflects that mindset. Please keep us posted on your timeline so we can move quickly and speed things up where needed. All interviews are conducted via Google Meet and onsite in our NYC office.

How we work

  • Build Bridges to Help Customers Win - We pride ourselves on being obsessively customer-centric.

  • Shooting Star Speed - We move with extreme speed. We value momentum, decisiveness, and the ability to accelerate when it matters.

  • Fun Is a Feature - We intentionally design Starbridge to be an energizing place to do hard work. Joy, humor, and camaraderie make great teams faster, sharper, and more resilient.

  • In the Arena - We believe the best ideas come from living close to the work, feeling the friction, hearing the nuance, and experiencing the details firsthand.

Benefits include:

  • Competitive salary + early-stage equity

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance

  • Company-provided lunch in the office every day

  • Gym stipend

  • Pre-tax commuter benefits

  • Unlimited PTO

  • Regular offsites (NYC + global locations)
