Job description

AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices based on our extensive IP and patent portfolio and designed for both commercial and government applications. Our engineers and space scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today’s five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected.

 

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Production Technician to support manufacturing and assembly operations. This role is responsible for executing production processes, ensuring product quality, and maintaining efficiency in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on technical skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow standardized procedures while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform assembly, integration, and basic testing of mechanical and/or electronic components.
• Follow work instructions, engineering drawings, and production documentation accurately.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and production equipment as required.
• Inspect components and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Identify and report non-conformances or process deviations.
• Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
• Support process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce defects.
• Ensure compliance with safety and company procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with workplace standards.

 

Qualifications

Education:

 

Relevant studies or technical training in manufacturing, electronics, mechanics, or a related field.

Experience:

A minimum of 2–4 years of experience in a production, manufacturing, or assembly environment. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a regulated or high-quality manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with interpreting technical drawings.
• Experience using manufacturing tracking systems.
• Previous experience working in controlled production environments.

Soft Skills:

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and standardized processes.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
• Strong time-management skills and ability to meet production deadlines.
• High level of accountability and reliability.

Technology Stack:

• Hand and power tools
• Basic measurement tools (calipers, multimeters, torque tools)
• Microsoft Office Suite
• Electronic documentation systems

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Manual dexterity required for handling tools and small components.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
