Job description

Position Overview

The HR Generalist supports employees and leaders across multiple locations by delivering a wide range of Human Resources services, including employee relations, talent support, compliance, onboarding, leave administration, workplace safety, and HR operations. This role serves as a key resource for employees and managers, helping ensure consistent HR practices, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across the organization.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative HR professional who enjoys working across multiple HR disciplines and can balance day-to-day employee support with operational and compliance-focused responsibilities.Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations & HR Support

  • Serve as a primary HR resource for employees and managers, providing guidance on company policies, procedures, and employment practices.
  • Support employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, performance management, and corrective action processes.
  • Assist with employee engagement, retention, recognition, and development initiatives.
  • Support leave administration, accommodations, and employee support programs.
  • Maintain employee records and HR documentation while ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives that enhance organizational effectiveness and employee experience. 

Talent & Employee Lifecycle Support

  • Support recruiting and hiring activities, including offer preparation, onboarding, and new hire orientation.
  • Serve as an HR contact for assigned locations and remote employees.
  • Assist with employee lifecycle events, including transfers, promotions, status changes, and offboarding.
  • Support workforce planning and staffing initiatives in partnership with managers and business leaders.
  • Coordinate pre-employment and post-employment processes, including background checks, employment verification, and related documentation.

Compliance, Safety & HR Operations

  • Support organizational compliance initiatives and assist with audits, reporting, and recordkeeping activities.
  • Coordinate workers' compensation claims, return-to-work processes, and related employee communications.
  • Assist with workplace safety programs, training initiatives, incident reporting, and corrective action follow-up.
  • Maintain compliance-related documentation and support regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Monitor HR, safety, and workforce-related metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support HRIS administration, reporting, and data integrity efforts.
  • Provide backup support for payroll processing and employee inquiries as needed.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure effective service delivery across locations.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of Human Resources experience supporting employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, compliance, HR operations, or related functions.
  • Experience supporting multiple locations and/or remote employees preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, logistics, engineering, professional services, or other fast-paced environments preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting employee relations and workplace investigations.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with workers' compensation, leave administration, and workplace safety programs.
  • Experience with HRIS, payroll, and workforce management systems.
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or related certification preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a standard office environment and use a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to regularly move throughout manufacturing, warehouse, and operational facilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, virtually, and by phone.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to participate in facility inspections, safety audits, and operational walk-throughs.
  • Flexibility to work outside standard business hours when needed to support operations and employee needs.
