As part of a lean and growing HR team, this position will serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers while providing hands-on support across a broad range of HR functions, including onboarding, payroll, benefits, HRIS administration, employee relations, compliance, performance management, recruiting, and employee engagement.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, evolving environment and is comfortable wearing multiple hats. The successful candidate will be proactive, resourceful, detail-oriented, and willing to jump in wherever needed to support employees and the broader business.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a go-to HR resource for employees and managers, responding to questions and providing guidance on HR programs, policies, processes, and day-to-day employee needs.
  • Manage and support employee lifecycle activities, including onboarding, employee changes, leaves, promotions, transfers, and offboarding.
  • Coordinate and lead new hire orientation, ensuring employees are set up for success and understand company policies, benefits, culture, and expectations.
  • Support payroll administration, including reviewing employee changes, time and attendance information, deductions, and other payroll-related data to help ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Support benefits administration and serve as a resource for employee benefit questions, enrollment, qualifying life events, and related processes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee information within the HRIS and other HR systems, ensuring data integrity and appropriate documentation.
  • Assist with recruiting and hiring activities as needed, including job postings, interview coordination, candidate communication, offers, and pre-employment processes.
  • Support employee relations matters by helping address employee questions and concerns, documenting issues, and partnering with HR leadership and managers as appropriate.
  • Support performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, employee development, and related documentation.
  • Assist with employee engagement initiatives, company communications, recognition programs, and other efforts that contribute to a positive employee experience and company culture.
  • Support HR compliance activities, including employee records, I-9s, required notices, reporting, and adherence to applicable employment laws and company policies.
  • Review, develop, and maintain HR policies, standard operating procedures, guidelines, templates, and other HR documentation.
  • Prepare HR reports, analyze workforce data, and support compensation, headcount, and other HR-related analyses as needed.
  • Partner with managers and employees across the organization to identify needs, resolve issues, and continuously improve HR processes and the employee experience.
  • Support special projects and evolving HR priorities as the company continues to grow and build its HR infrastructure.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of broad Human Resources experience, preferably within a startup, growing organization, corporate, or manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting multiple areas of HR and the ability to independently manage day-to-day HR responsibilities.
  • Comfortable working in a lean HR environment where responsibilities may evolve and team members are expected to contribute outside of their primary areas of responsibility.
  • Strong judgment and demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment while effectively managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Rippling or similar HRIS/payroll platforms is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of employment practices and applicable federal and state employment laws.
  • Proactive and resourceful approach with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and take ownership of whatever needs to get done.
