Job description

We are seeking a Fieldwork Student II, OT candidate to join our growing multi-disciplinary team!

What will you do?

  • Performs occupational therapy interventions, evaluations, and documentation under the direct supervision and guidance of a licensed occupational therapist.
  • The student occupational therapist is required to complete all the same duties related to patient care as a licensed occupational therapist.
  • Perform clerical duties, take memos, maintain files, and organize documents; photocopy, fax, etc. as needed.
  • Assist in preparing information and materials for treatment sessions.
  • Take notes and memos during meetings; type documents, drafts, and reports; sort and manage files
  • Assist in maintaining equipment and materials for the SMC team.
  • Follow the guidelines set forth from your Academic Institution

 What's required?

  • Currently enrolled in a high school, trade program, or institution of higher learning 
  • Ability to interact with children of a variety of ages and be both engaging and fun
  • Willingness and patience to support children who may be engaging in challenging behaviors
  • Ability to be flexible and “think on your feet”
  • Ability to communicate positively and effectively to families and co-workers
