- # **Design Engineer**
CrowdVolt is rebuilding the infrastructure for live events.
We graduated from Y Combinator in 2024 and have since raised a $2.5M+ seed round. CrowdVolt has been growing rapidly, and we are bringing on another founding engineer to support this growth. We're a team of 10+ working in person 5 days a week in New York City. You will work directly with our CTO and existing engineers and designers.
### **What you’ll do**
* Design and build responsive, high-performance interfaces in the browser sweating the typography, motion, empty states, and pixel-level detail.
* Own and evolve our design system across components, tokens, and interaction patterns and keeping Figma and code in lockstep.
* Own and ship features across our entire product, from ideation and prototype through deployment.
* Drive product and design decisions through direct user feedback and data analysis.
### **Our ideal candidate**
* Intensely curious about design, software engineering, technology, and learning generally.
* Obsessed with craft and taste, and is fanatical about polish, down to the pixel.
* Has a portfolio (or projects) that show both design sensibility and shipped frontend work, or experience owning large sections of a codebase.
* Fluent in React, TypeScript, Tailwind, and modern CSS, with a strong feel for motion/animation (Framer Motion, GSAP, or similar) and Figma
* Bias toward action and rapid iteration, and can go from a sketch to a working, interactive prototype in hours.
* Uses or can quickly adapt to an AI-native workflow, and comfortable delegating work to models, writing code with AI, building agents, and engineering the way they work; constantly looks for opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and create leverage through software.
