POSITION OVERVIEW 

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our pediatric team in Chelsea, Michigan. This role will primarily serve as a centralized triage resource supporting pediatric clinics across the market, while also providing traditional RN support within the clinic as needed. 

The RN will assess patient concerns, provide clinical guidance, coordinate next steps, and escalate care to providers when appropriate. In addition to triage responsibilities, this role will provide direct patient care, vaccinations, treatments, patient education, and other clinical support based on clinic needs. 

The ideal candidate is an experienced RN who is comfortable independently assessing patient needs, communicating with families by phone, collaborating across multiple clinic teams, and providing hands-on pediatric care when needed. 

WHAT YOU'LL DO: 

Centralized RN Triage 

• Serve as a centralized RN triage resource for pediatric clinics across the Atlanta market. 
• Assess incoming patient and caregiver concerns by phone and determine the appropriate level and timing of care using established clinical protocols and nursing judgment. 
• Gather and evaluate relevant clinical information, including symptoms, medical history, risk factors, and other patient-specific considerations. 
• Provide clear, compassionate guidance and education to parents and caregivers regarding symptoms, home care, follow-up, and next steps. 
• Identify urgent or emergent concerns and appropriately escalate patients to a provider, clinic, urgent care, or emergency department based on established protocols. 
• Coordinate with providers and clinic teams to ensure timely follow-up and continuity of care. 
• Document triage encounters, recommendations, and follow-up plans accurately and thoroughly in the patient’s medical record. 
• Communicate relevant patient information through appropriate handoffs across clinics, providers, and levels of care. 
• Maintain a high level of responsiveness while managing triage needs across multiple clinic locations. 

RN & Clinical Support 

• Provide direct nursing support within the clinic based on patient volume and operational needs. 
• Perform patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and developmental screenings. 
• Room patients and help ensure a smooth and efficient clinical experience for patients and families. 
• Administer vaccinations, medications, and treatments as prescribed by providers. 
• Assist with minor procedures while ensuring patient safety and comfort. 
• Provide patient and family education related to diagnoses, treatments, medications, and preventive care. 
• Collaborate closely with providers, medical assistants, nurses, and administrative team members to coordinate patient care. 
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies. 
• Follow infection control, patient safety, and clinical quality standards. 
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, professional development, and other clinical activities as needed. 
• Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and professionalism in interactions with patients, families, and team members. 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED: 

• Associate degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. 
• Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program. 
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing. 
• Current BLS/CPR certification; PALS preferred. 
• 18+ months of professional nursing experience. 
• Pediatric and/or telephone triage experience strongly preferred. 
• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills with the ability to make appropriate decisions based on established protocols and nursing judgment. 
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide clear guidance to parents and caregivers over the phone. 
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize patient needs across multiple clinics. 
• Ability to work collaboratively across a market-based team while also functioning independently in a fast-paced environment. 
• Comfortable balancing centralized triage responsibilities with hands-on clinical support based on patient and clinic needs.
